MediaTek launches MT6592, world's first true octa-core processor

Taiwan based semiconductor giant Mediatek which provides SOS i.e system-on-chip solutions for smartphones, tablets, optical drives, digital televisions, set-top boxes, GPS units, Wi-Fi routers and Bluetooth devices has launched world’s first heterogeneous computing SOC with scalable eight-core processing for superior multi-tasking, industry-leading multimedia and excellent performance-per-watt and is to be claimed as "world's first true octa-core processor". This is named as MediaTek MT6592 which will bring a revolution in smartphone Industry.

Smart phone running on this processor will not only be extremely powerful, but power-efficient as well. MediaTek MT6592 deliver premium gaming performance, advanced multi-tasking and enhanced web browsing for high-end smartphones and tablets.MT6592 is the first to use the power-efficient ARM Cortex-A7 processor in an octa-core configuration with the ARM Mali GPU.

Now, just check the features of this new processor.
The MT6592 has got 8 CPU cores, each capable of operating up to 2GHz, built on advanced 28nm HPM high-performance process. Thanks to the MediaTek scheduling algorithm, users will get optimum temperature monitoring and power consumption every single time. The MediaTek MT6592 features a quad-core graphics engine, an advance video playback system supporting Ultra-HD 4Kx2K H.264 video playback and support for new video codecs such as H.265 and VP9, a 16-megapixel camera and a Full HD display.Just Like other Mediatek chipsets, the MT6592 too will have an on-board modem for WiFi, GPS and FM.

Zopo has launched world's first smart phone which is powered with this processor and one can check the Zopo's website to book one.

In India, Intex has launched its new smart phone based on MediaTek MT6592 processor. Though company has not revealed the name and price of the new smart phone but has revealed the specs. Pricing of this new smart phone is expected to be less then Rs 20,000 in India.

So in 2014, we will see most of the brands coming up with new smartphone which will be powered with Octa Core processers and running on Android 4.4 KitKat OS, and most of the users would prefer to go for the same. Already few smartphone based on this processors have been launched.
